Flavours of Malvan is a home styled speciality Malvani kitchen based out of Bandra West, Mumbai. Our authentic recipies have been mastered & headed by Home Chef Pallavi, which have been passed down two generations . Malvan is a quaint little coastal Konkan town which is well renowned for its coastal Maharashtrain cuisine. Our well preserved secret recipies are a fine balance of home made ground masalas combined with freshly made green masala along with coconut which have a unique mouth-watering flavour.
Flavours of Malvan / Pallavi's food is an absolute must have! We are more partial to prawns so regularly order her prawns fry which is perfectly spiced and so some-morish! Her dishes are always consistent in taste, and we have enjoyed varied items from her menu. Her prawn pulao is one of my favourites along with the sol kadi. The pulao is perfectly balanced in flavour with a generous portion of prawns and is a lip-smacking treat. So are her curries. It is an art to balance flavour with spice and oiliness. Pallavi's food has mastered that art. It is never too greasy or over spicy. Another one of my favourites is her doodhi halwa which is sublime with the right amount of sweetness and not over laden in ghee. I also appreciate Pallavi's responsiveness, and she has always graciously accommodated my last minute requests. Pallavi is my go-to home chef for Malvani cuisine.
A Bombayite will go to extents to pamper his tastebuds. Flavours of Malvan should then be his favourite foodsign in his foray. All the dishes are cooked by Pallavi, a Bombayite, and the exotic Malvan Flavours trickle into her food chart. The reigning Queen at her table is the Fish Fry. Tempting, packed in juicy masala with an indigenous Flavour, is not in vain. You will order again and again. The Mutton Chops are cool, will make you drool. And the luscious Chicken Gravy is just great on a full or empty tummy.
The pomfret fry is the best I’ve had up to date, and goes very well with another delicious dish, their finger licking prawn curry with rice & sol Kadi. I felt as if I was in Goa and this meal is best enjoyed with your fingers.
The mutton chops (each chop is generously sized) and prawn Biryani is that perfect feel good meal when you don’t know what to eat but want something out of this world to cheer you up during these Covid times.
Pallavi is very detailed in her understanding of our requirements . Would recommend Flavours of Malvan anytime!
